Aims

1. To enable students to "become" critically reflective practitioners able to synthesise, integrate and sustain the learning experienced during the DBA process 2. To set their research within an academic and professional context demonstrating a significant and original contribution to knowledge.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Demonstrate a critical and theory based response to assumptions regarding professional practice development
2.
Provide an account of their contribution to knowledge and professional practice.
3.
Present information/report(s) clearly and concisely at a level judged suitable for publication in a refereed academic or professional journal.
4.
Critically explore professional practice as situated practice within a community of values and beliefs
5.
Communicate the results of their research to peers and engage in critical dialogue to specialist academic and work place audiences.
6.
Provide implications of the further development of their specific professional practice in relation to their own work, its context, and the form future development would take. This should demonstrate the command of advanced research and professional skills.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:The reflective module provides participants with the opportunity and required skills to develop as reflective practitioners. On completion of the module participants will have demonstrated critical reflection on their professional practice and learning through module processes and through the related portfolio assessment tasks of: 1. Critical reflection on learning agreement, 2. Critical reflection on a managing/leading issue which has emerged from their research, 3. Critical reflection on learning emerging from the investigative project.
Module Overview:
This module enables you to present a coherent and critical overview of your professional learning during the DBA process. You will present your reflections on professional learning in an academic and professional context and discuss the practical applications of investigative project findings. The module aims to:
  • enable you to become a critically reflective practitioner, able to synthesise, integrate and sustain the learning experienced during the DBA process
  • set your research within an academic and professional context, demonstrating a significant and original contribution to knowledge
Additional Information:This module provides the participant with the opportunity to present a coherent and critical overview of their professional learning during the DBA process. The participant will have the opportunity to present his/her reflections on professional learning in an academic and professional context and discuss the practical applications of the findings of the investigative projects.
