Aims

The aim of this module is to capture the competencies of professional skills and standards, consultancy, research and teaching and training (education and dissemination) in Applied Sport and Exercise Science over the period of training.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Develop, implement and maintain personal and professional standards and ethical practice
2.
Research and develop new and existing methods, concepts, models, theories and instruments in Applied Sport and Exercise Science
3.
Synthesise, interpret and apply relevant theoretical frameworks and research findings through individual consultancy to complex professional contexts
4.
Communicate Applied Sport and Exercise Science related knowledge and principles to specialist and non-specialist audiences

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Workshop sessions will facilitate student activity and direct supervision aimed at supporting students through the professional practice activity to be completed.
Module Overview:
This module comprises 2,100 of the course's 2,700 work-based activity hours. It aims to capture the competencies associated with applied research:

• professional skills and standards important for research • strategies to support the completion of independent research projects • key themes in disseminating applied research
Additional Information:This module comprises 2100 hours of work-based activity – there are a total of 2700 hours across the programme. This is the second module on the DSportExSci programme. This module is focussed on professional skills and standards, consultancy, research and teaching and training.
