Aims

The aim of the module is for the candidate to demonstrate that the criteria for EngD have been satisfied and for making an original contribution to knowledge through the portfolio of project reports, papers and relevant documentation and critical discussion

Learning Outcomes

1.
Creation and interpretation of new knowledge, through original research of a quality to satisfy peer review, extend the forefront of the discipline, and merit publication;
2.
Explain the techniques used in the project and why they are appropriate to the research;
3.
Present ideas and conclusions of the research project clearly and effectively with critical discussion;
4.
Self-direction and effective decision making in complex and unpredictable situations and the ability to evaluate their own achievement and that of others;

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Outcomes from the investigative projects are brought together in a single piece of work, which can be used to demonstrate the contribution of the work to the creation of new knowledge, and to disseminate research outputs in the form of a journal publication and to a non-specialist audience.
Module Overview:

It is at this stage that the outcomes from the investigative projects are brought together in a single piece of work, which can be used to demonstrate the contribution to the creation of new knowledge, and to disseminate research outputs to specialist and non-specialist audiences
