Aims
To develop an understanding of the project environment and how it impacts on all phases of a project.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Critically evaluate external and internal influences on a project, considering government and industry structures, economics, stakeholders, organisational/project structures and culture.
2.
Develop a critical awareness of the emerging forces in the market (such as; climate change, digitalisation, new forms of funding, robots and changing workforce etc.) and their influence on projects.
3.
Critically appraise the role of ethics and corporate social responsibility within a global market place.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
The module will look to discuss the following aspects within the strategic consideration of both projects and organisations and the context of working in both home and international markets. Theory and practice will be used with case studies
to expand and contextualise the following:
Introduction to the Project Environment
Internal factors that influence the projects – their links with the emerging forces in the market
External factors that influence the projects - their links with the emerging forces in the market
Ethics and corporate social responsibilities, individuals and organisational considerations
