Aims

This module brings together the different strands of scaling up a business investigated in year 1 to consider how they integrate in order to develop a business responsibly and sustainably. By exploring various contexts for growth, the module aims to focus on the business development needs, strategies and obstacles for accelerated growth, including how to navigate industry landscapes and stakeholder relations, with opportunity to reflect and review current strategies.

  • Scale-up growth objectives
  • UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and direction.
  • Identifying and negotiating with key stakeholders
  • Navigating roles, responsibilities and ecosystem structures
  • Investment for growth
  • Supply chain and resource management approaches
  • Competitive and collaborative advantage
  • Corporate Social Responsibility, Governance and regulatory compliance
  • Diplomacy, risk and crisis management strategies
  • Barriers and opportunities for responsible growth and impacts
  • Theoretical and consultancy approaches to business development strategies .
Module Overview:
This year-long module aims to help you to consider your organisation's business development needs, strategies and obstacles for accelerated but responsible business growth and how to navigate industry landscapes and stakeholder relations. 
Additional Information:
This module covers the following SLA Apprenticeship KSBs:

K16 Working with corporate leadership structures, for example, the markets it operates in, roles and responsibilities, who its stakeholders are and what they require from the organisation and the sustainability agenda.
K17 Crisis and risk management strategies
S1 Use horizon scanning and conceptualisation to deliver high performance strategies focusing on growth/sustainable outcomes.
S2 Set strategic direction and gain support for it from key stakeholders.
S9 Drive a culture of resilience and support development of new enterprise and opportunities.
S12 Oversee procurement, supply chain management and contracts.
