Aims
To develop a critical understanding of current practice and research in the field of arts within mental health and wellbeing; To critically argue why engagement in the Arts has added value in helping to promote, prevent, manage and treat mental health conditions.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Critically argue the growing evidence base for the role of the arts in improving mental health and well-being;
2.
Critically construct how engagement with social, cultural & community assets can support prevention and promotion, management and treatment of mental health;
3.
Formulate an art and health intervention strategy, culturally appropriate for a particular social group.
