Aims

The module aims to develop trainees knowledge and understanding of educational research methodology and methods, and how data can be used to inform planning, and promote learning and progress.

Learning Outcomes

Critically reflect on the factors that impact on pupils’ progress

Analyse how schools identify and address barriers to learning and promote progress

Critically select, apply and evaluate appropriate educational research methods considering ethical and contextual issues

Research methodology and methods, including, case study, participant observation, literature review and document analysis Education policy and research, including critique of impact at the national and local level
