Aims
This module will empower students to lead and demonstrate positive role-modelling whilst facilitating and driving culture change to support their workplace and their community. It will embed leadership styles to support practitioners in change management and react to the dynamic needs of organisations whilst promoting inclusivity and interprofessional learning, this will in turn, enable practitioners to showcase compassionate leadership and advocacy
Learning Outcomes
1.
Critically analyse factors to deliver effective leadership and advocacy, demonstrating the ability to practice with a high level of autonomy and innovation as SCPHN/SPQ nurses
2.
Synthesise the concept of compassionate leadership, promoting human rights, equality, diversity, and inclusion within the role of specialist practice
3.
Critically analyse the application of legislation and policy to demonstrate governance in service development.

Module Overview:
This module aims to enhance your skills and knowledge, enabling you to take a central role in the development of practice within your working environment.
It will also provide an opportunity for you to engage in debate and discussion, so you can identify your strengths and weaknesses as a leader within your organisation.
You will further consider how you can influence and inspire others at both a local, regional, national and international level.

Additional Information:
Leadership and management skills will be developed though participation by the learners in group-work and dealing with “real-life” work place situations and stresses. Learners will be expected to keep a reflective diary enabling them to critically reflect on the process of working in teams to achieve the learning outcomes; they will undergo formative peer assessment and feedback. This student centred, evidence based, approach to learning and assessment will develop key employability skills.
