To develop the students’ knowledge, understanding and practical experience of designing, delivering and evaluating exercise interventions for individuals with long-term medical conditions

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
Principles of programming (FITT ) Exercises in the gym environment Exercise programming for a range of health conditions. Progressions and regressions of exercises. Basic gym induction - strength and conditioning for low and high risk health conditions. 
Module Overview:
This module considers theoretical knowledge and practical experience for safe and effective prescription and delivery of exercise for individuals with long-term medical conditions.
Additional Information:
This module considers exercise programming design, prescription, understanding and delivery for individuals with long-term medical conditions. It will include theoretical knowledge and practical experience. There will be an assessment in the form of a presentation that will cover 7171SPOSCI, 7172SPOSCI and 7174SPOSCI.
