Aims

This module will mainly focus on the pathophysiological processes underlying a range of health conditions. The role of exercise in primary and secondary prevention and treatment of these diseases will be discussed.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
Pathophysiology, Prevalence, Risk Factors, Treatment Pathways for a range of clinical conditions including: cancer, cardiovascular, frailty, renal, mental health, metabolic, musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory. 
Module Overview:
This module focuses on the pathophysiological processes underlying a range of health conditions. The role of exercise in primary and secondary prevention and treatment of these diseases is discussed. The module looks at the whole pathway of the diseases including prevalence, risk factors, underlying pathophysiology and treatment (including drugs, surgery and exercise).
Additional Information:
There will be an assessment in the form of a presentation will cover 7171SPOSCI, 7172SPOSCI and 7174SPOSCI.
