Aims
To prepare for real-world applications of theoretical knowledge and technical skills, alongside developing professional competencies that enhance effective working across a range of performance based settings. The module will prepare students to transition from their academic studies to successful and effective careers.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Integrate theoretical concepts into practical scenarios by ethically applying a range of competencies and skills to identify and solve problems commonly encountered in sport science practice.
2.
Engage in reflective practice, evaluating personal competencies and skills and areas for improvement, with the aim of continuous professional development.
3.
Effectively communicate sport science information to clients, athletes, and other stakeholders in a clear, accessible manner, fostering understanding and adherence to prescribed interventions.
4.
Understand the importance of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with professionals from various disciplines to enhance the overall support provided to athletes and clients.

Module Overview:
This module will prepare students for employment in applied sports science and to develop real-world applications of their theoretical knowledge and technical skills learned in other modules from the programme. Guided by the BASES competencies, students will develop understanding of the working environment within sport science and the knowledge and behaviours required to be successful. The module will enable students to self-evaluate, plan their professional development and reflect on experiences from the real-world environment. In addition, students will identify and develop key technical and non-technical skills for working successfully in sport science within their own discipline and collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team.
