Aims

Using a creative pedagogical approach, this module aims to connect education leadership practice to local communities and regional contexts both nationally and internationally. The learner will explore people and stakeholder dynamics and present socially just methods that drive education and improvement across a variety of communities.

Learning Outcomes

Explore the dimensions of leading people in complex and challenging educational environments.

Critically understand socially just leadership approaches and stakeholder engagement as part of community and place leadership in education.

Generate strategic insights that ethically addresses local and wider community and stakeholder needs.

Outline Syllabus:
1. Leading people and people dynamics theories 2. Applying leadership through complexity and challenge 3. Applying sustainable approaches to leadership and people development in education 4. Using ethical leadership principles when implementing stakeholder engagement.
Module Overview:
Working with creative techniques and using reflective practice, this module introduces you to theories of socially just leadership from your local setting to the wider geographical region. The module will develop students' practical leadership skills and consider ethical leadership approaches that are specific to your context, consider methods and models to identify specific needs within educational settings and prioritise working ethically with people and communities to generate sustainable impact.
