Aims
To enable the student to critically reflect on the practice of Independent and Supplementary Prescribing from multiple perspectives.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Critically analyse and evaluate current research in relation to independent and supplementary prescribing
2.
Critically reflect upon professional and personal development related to independent and supplementary prescribing in practice
3.
Evidence the synthesis of theory and practice of independent and supplementary prescribing as it relates to service/practice development
4.
Display critical awareness of how supplementary and independent prescribing impacts on the role of advanced practitioner.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Critical writing, portfolio development, practice development dissemination, self-evaluation and reflection in practice, personal and professional development, critical appraisal and synthesis of literature, critical appraisal of legislation, regulation, policy and procedure in prescribing
Additional Information:The module includes online learning content, which will be followed up by discursive tutorials. Students must have achieved level 6 in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing to undertake this module. Students will need to be actively undertaking prescribing in practice in order to undertake the module.
