Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
The module provides students with the opportunity to research and conduct an in-depth written and/or practical research project on any topic related to Film Studies or appropriate for exploring through the medium of film. The sustained opportunity provided for autonomous study enables students to develop and consolidate their intellectual and creative achievement on the Master of Arts programme.
Module Overview:
Undertake an extended research project, which can be either written or practice-based.

Introductory sessions will inform students of the requirements for the Final Project.

Students will be allocated a supervisor for one-to-one tutorials.
Additional Information:
Group sessions delivered in the first semester will help students shape the ideas of their research project and share it with their peers and the module leader. Then each student will be allocated a supervisor, who will offer one-to-one tutorials in order to advise student on the most effective way to develop their project. Students may produce either a written thesis or a practical, film-based, research project with accompanying written critical reflection.
