Aims

To facilitate the development of safe and competent Advanced Clinical Practitioners.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Plan a negotiated tripartite learning agreement reflective of individual professional and organisational needs.
2.
Exercise appropriate judgement when applying advanced knowledge and skills pertaining to professional role and practice.
3.
Critically appraise the contribution of the professional role relating this to the four pillars of advanced clinical practice.
4.
Critically reflect on the learning experience within the work place considering the impact on quality and care.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
During this module as part of the tripartite system the trainee ACP apprentice will have the opportunity to consolidate learning achieved through the Advanced Clinical Practice apprenticeship programme. This will facilitate progression to the end point assessment. There will be guidance to: Identify individual learning needs in relation to professional role and agreed with the practice area. Number and location of tutorial based classes. Completion of ACP competencies and organisational competencies in relation to specialist ACP role.
Module Overview:
This module is designed to help trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners consolidate their learning and prepare for the end-point assessment, ensuring they become safe and competent practitioners in their specialist roles.
Additional Information:
This module has been specifically designed to meet the requirements set by Apprentice standards and Health Education England (HEE) four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice. For this module the majority of learning will take place in the work based clinical area. Learning and teaching strategies within this module aim to develop skills in problem solving and reflective practice to aid the transition to Advanced Clinical Practice. A range of face to face class room based tutorials and material delivered via virtual learning environment - Canvas will support the student to further develop their competence related to the apprenticeship standards and to the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice. Students will be guided to identify the individual learning goals and agree these with practice. The inclusion of a portfolio in the submission is required and will demonstrate evidence of clinical competency.
