Aims

The aim of this module is to develop the students knowledge and understanding of research methodologies and approaches to research, with considerations of good research practice and strategies to disseminate research and the application of research to practice and the profession.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
This module is a specific module for the development and understanding of research as aligned to the research pillar within the Multiprofessional framework for Advanced Clinical practice (HEE, 2017) and offers the students the opportunity to examine research and it's application to practice and the profession.

The module commences in November and is run over 12 face to face lecture-based sessions and seminars which allows the students to explore research in an applied sense.  The focus of the module reflects on an individual actions within the role of research, the principles of honesty, rigour, transparency and open communication, care and respect, and accountability for a research process. The module examines and considers the wider ethical concerns connected to the research or its potential outcomes. It is grounded in traditional research methodologies and approaches.
