Aims
The module reviews education and equality theories, concepts, research practice to examine the role of critical pedagogies in wider educational global contexts. This module will explore challenges that educators experience around the world in their everyday practice such as understanding difference and promoting peace and children’s rights, curriculum for sustainability and climate emergency and action.
Learning Outcomes

Critically examine theories and concepts underpinning critical global citizenship education and education for sustainability including those from the global south, majority, or indigenous groups
2.
Critically evaluate ethical global learning and teaching and learning approaches.
3.
Critically review international research evidence on critical global citizenship education, education for sustainability and local and global education agendas.

This module explores pedagogies of hope, including those referred to in the Dublin Declaration 2020 and from Global South (e.g., peace education, human rights education, climate justice education) used by educators to teach and act for a just and sustainable world.
