Aims
This module will prepare students to demonstrate critical awareness of the factors impacting on safe, quality nursing care. . The module will incorporate and develop an understanding of research methods, research-ethics and the evidence base that underpins practice that will prepare students for their research focussed project in year two.

Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of advocacy, and factors impacting on an individual’s ability to participate in their own care

Module Overview:
This module will enable students to demonstrate their research capabilities through the exploration of the factors which impact upon safe, quality nursing care. Students will be able to demonstrate a critical understanding of the application of legislation and policy which informs nursing care. They will be able to evidence a critical awareness of human factors and how risk management is utilised to promote safe practice.
