Aims

Critical self understanding is the cornerstone of good leadership and the emphasis of this module is on developing deeper self knowledge and insights, strategies for effective reflective practice, successful goal setting and action planning techniques in order to maximise own learning potential, develop leadership capability and ensure personal well being.

Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate deep critical reflection on self, professional practices, own learning and development

Create and utilise structured processes and techniques to critically reflect on self, experiences, learning and development
3.
Identify goals, strategies for achievement and consideration of barriers and restraints that might impede progress

  • Motivations, values and beliefs
  • Harnessing creative skills and practices
  • Career journey and development
  • Peer support
Module Overview:
This module is an integrated and holistic part of the first year of the  programme and seeks to facilitate personal and professional growth and act as catalyst for reflection on learning from other first year modules and the wider aspects of the programme.
Additional Information:
For learners who are also part of the Senior Leadership Apprenticeship, the following standards are covered within the module; 

(K18) Coaching and mentoring techniques. (B2) Take personal accountability aligned to clear values. (B5) Seek continuous professional development opportunities for self and wider team. (B3) Curious and innovative - exploring areas of ambiguity and complexity and finding creative solutions.
