Aims
This module supports students to critically examine the leadership and development of people and the creation of a culture in a hospital setting.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Critically evaluate the importance of values and ethics, both personal and organisational, demonstrating how these inform and underpin judgement in leadership roles
2.
Explore the concepts of management, leadership and leader and appraise how each of these is essential to the successful running of teams and organisations, and how executive leaders need to be able to move between them to develop organisational performance
3.
Critically analyse of a range of leadership styles, as relevant to the learner's specific context, providing evidence of how these have been used at different times and in different scenarios to create a positive culture that promotes the well-being of team members.

Module Overview:
Through exploration of the influence and impact of leadership theories, this module supports students to develop an appreciation of values - both personal and corporate- with learners demonstrating how these values underpin sound leadership judgements. The concepts of management, leadership and leader are explored and the impact that these have on team performance and culture is examined.
