Aims

This module aims to provide you with the opportunity to develop on your enterprise, project planning and management skills as well as creative processes to generate an original new work as part of a company for a public audience. You will assume a production role, requiring personal and interpersonal management skills, communication, and negotiation with others. You will also adopt a creative role/s in the generation of this new piece, allowing you to synthesise both creative and entrepreneurial skills in performance creation.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
In this module you will adopt both a production and creative role in the creation, production and performance of a brand new self-generated work. You will be provided with workshop seminars to identify new project ideas and the business and enterprise skills required to plan and accomplish these in a public production in a format/medium of your choice. You will be expected to research the critical and cultural resonance of the work to understand its relevancy and present your work as part of a dedicated festival of new work. The consolidation of independent research, creative enterprise skills and professionalism is core to the module delivery.
Module Overview:
This module builds on previous Artistic Practice projects, advancing your development and creation of original new material. You will receive mentored supervision in your chosen area, leading to a live/recorded showcasing of work at our annual festival. Additionally, you will use practical and research skills to develop a solo project, improving your independent entrepreneurial and project management skills.
