Module Content

Outline Syllabus:The module is designed to deliver pre-professional level skills in Classical dance techniques. Throughout the year students continue with regular classes each week in which they will further enhance technical and creative capabilities, critical understanding and research informed knowledge of Classical dance. Building on Level 5 studies, the module will focus on enhancing the acquisition of a fuller awareness of their bodies’ capabilities and how to physically apply this understanding to their dance practice. Students will be exposed to different lecturers, to refine the ability to adapt and respond to differing approaches used by different practitioners. Repertory excerpts will be studied to extend and refine the students’ integration of challenging technical skills into artistic performance.
Additional Information:This module supports students in attaining pre-professional levels in Classical dance techniques. Assessment is via one formally assessed class involving performed work.
