Studio based performance

The module will comprise an exploration of key acting techniques, which should be studied in depth and used to apply to all musical theatre performance development. Activities will include:
1. Work on scripts and plays where students have a specific period of time to read, evaluate, respond and develop an appropriate, coherent and considered performance which utilises their own personal approach to acting within the dramatic/theatrical context of the varied work explored.
2. Ongoing exploration of their technique in Acting Class which will include workshops and master classes which explore diverse and contemporary approaches to acting, rehearsal and performance.
3. Exploration of the differing stylistic requirements of a career in musical theatre and how to synthesise knowledge and understanding of a range of cultural and historical performance styles into cohesive acting technique for musical theatre.
