Aims

To provide the basis for basic elements of professional conduct and clinical legal education, and provide a basis for delivering legal services with appropriate supervision and reflecting upon the experience.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Demonstrate skills in client interviewing, persuasive oral communication, case and matter analysis and legal research.
2.
Demonstrate an ability to conduct a client interview in a clinical setting with appropriate supervision.
3.
Demonstrate an ability to draft a detailed and accurate file note of a client interview.
4.
Critically reflect on legal services undertaken in the context of a university law clinic.

Additional Information:Module designed to provide practical knowledge and skills. Students who have studied 5507LAWSL Clinical Education I at Level 5 are not permitted to take 6518LAWSL Clinical Education I. Students wishing to take 6518LAWSL Clinical Education I must have passed 4505LAWSL Law in Society. Students at Level 6 may not undertake both 6519LAWSL Clinical Education II (Year Long) and 6518LAWSL Clinical Education I.
