Aims

To study the concept and practice of supply chain management from the viewpoints of manufacturer, logistics service providers and governments, and to examine the structure of supply chain as an integral part of a competitive business operations.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Manage the operation of the various forms of co-operations between partners in supply chains.
2.
Analyse the effectiveness of an integrated supply chain from different perspectives.
3.
Examine the range of standards, regulations and codes of practice with which the industry must comply.
4.
Design, plan and implement integrated supply chains based on practical business applications.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Applied Supply Chain Management Views of Supply Chain Management Business Modelling in Sourcing Integrated Manufacturing Planning Scheduling and Forecasting Internationalization of Supply Chains Case Study: Supply Chain Simulation
Additional Information:Students work in groups of four as part of the simulation. Each group represents the senior management of a company within the simulation environment. They have to apply their knowledge gained during all previous semesters and make decisions for the company’s operations, and supply chain. The lecturing team lectures some advanced LSCM topics and consults the students during their decision making process. The simulation is played in six rounds. Each decision, aim, and result is documented in the final report.
