Aims

This module aims to support students in applying their established social science knowledge to the disputed concept of ‘Youth’; how it can be separated from ‘Adolescence’ and how it has it’s own distinct identity to wider Communities. This will include exploring the impact of youth culture on young people’s lives as well as constructive and destructive policy responses to the ‘problem of youth’. Students will explore and critically assess a range of skills and approaches to working with young people and wider communities and how these can be applied in a range of social contexts.
