Display critical awareness of how power dynamics in an international setting may be reinforced and / or disrupted by education

Critically discuss the ambiguous nature of educational outcomes in international settings and their impact on practice
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:This module examines power dynamics inherent within educational ideas and practice within and across varying international settings. Both intended and unintended outcomes are examined, along with any impacts that may arise. For example: language and cultural hegemony; humanism, instrumentalism and functionalism; conflict and reconciliation; educational ideas in the global South.

Students will be assessed by means of (1) a series of short summative group presentations and (2) an individual evaluative review of a national syllabus from a country situated in the global South.
