Aims

To prepare the students to undertake their own media-related projects and to deliver the required skill set for successful completion of their investigations.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Critically analyse and reflect on the work of other practitioners
2.
Design and formulate methods to produce a project deliverable and undertake quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the results.
3.
Formulate a study plan, demonstrating an understanding of the effect of risks and uncertainties in the delivery of a project.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Introduction to search methods Identification and exploration of suitable subjects for the project. Selection of project and rationale for the choice. Styles and conventions associated with technical writing, presentations and speaking to technical audiences. Project planning activities and tools, time management, use of Gantt charts. Management of project risk and health and safety considerations when conducting a project.
Module Overview:
To prepare the students to undertake their own media-related projects and to deliver the required skill set for successful completion of their investigations.This module is to prepare students for their Project. Students will work during Semester 1 to select a subject area for their project, identify resources and a time management plan. The student will provide a Terms of Reference document and Gantt chart, agreed by supervisor(s) and student. Thereafter the student will carry out the Project (in semester 2) according to this Terms of Reference.
Additional Information:This module is to prepare students for their Project.
