This module aims to provide you with appropriate skills and understanding to initiate, design, conduct and report an early childhood studies research project that is either empirical based research or library-based research under appropriate supervision. You will demonstrate a highly developed ability to recognise its theoretical, practical and methodological implications and limitations, and you will be aware of the complexity of ethical principles and issues.
This module builds on students’ previously acquired knowledge and understanding related to their studies as part of Early Childhood and offers the opportunity to develop a personal area of interest as part of a small scale research project
either as an empirically based or library based approach, under appropriate supervision. The module builds on the core level 4 student Enquiry modules, 4202ECS and 4205ECS and the level 5 core research modules, Student Enquiry into Research Methods 5202ECS and Professional Project Enquiry 5207ECS.
Students engaging in an empirical research project may organise a placement in partnership and collaboration with LJMU placement office.
