Human Trafficking - this module will provide a critical understanding of the issues encompassing human trafficking, which includes a comprehension of the definition and the elements that constitute human trafficking, an examination of the phenomenon of human trafficking setting it into a modern context and outlining the problems and the differing types of trafficking.

Public Order and Protest - An examination of the concept of public order, the sociological and psychological theories that seek to explain the causes and dynamics of disorder, the legal issues surrounding public order and the contemporary public order policing challenges.

Intelligence and Surveillance - The student will be introduced to a number of diverse structures and models relating to western intelligence and how that information is assessed, graded, processed and ultimately used in respect of state security and enforcement. A theme will be the on-going debate between legislative frameworks, individual human rights and the ever-increasing demand for state security.
