Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
Consolidating knowledge of the below in the child field;
Consolidating knowledge of the below in the child field;
- Advanced systematic history taking/assessment in child patients who have complex care needs, both in the acute and chronically unwell person (NMC 3.3, 3.4, 3.5)
- Advanced medication management and nurse prescribing in the child setting (NMC 4.14, 4.16, 4.17)
- Health Numeracy
- Interpreting results from routine investigations and taking relevant action following these (NMC 3.12)
- Working in partnership with others to deliver safe and quality care in line with quality assurance processes (NMC 1.18, 3.15, 5.5, 7.1, 7.5)
- Co-ordination and planning in the safe discharge of patients home and between care settings (NMC 4.18, 7.10)

In addition to the contact hours above there are 160 private study hours. 85 hours are guided, this includes online and assessment preparation. Online hours are e-learning. 75 hours are independent study Please note that workshop hours account for simulated theoretical learning, in accordance with NMC standard 3.4
