Aims
To analyse, explain and illustrate the primary English Common Law remedies in contract, tort and restitution.

Outline Syllabus:A. Compensatory aims and theoretical underpinnings of compensation
B. Factors limiting recovery of damages
i. Factual Causation, intervening cause, remoteness of damage and mitigation
C. Damages for different types of loss
i. Pecuniary loss (except consequent on personal injury or death- including breach of contract and mental distress)
ii. Damages for personal injury and death
D. Outline of breach of contract remedies
E. Compelling performance – specific performance and injunction
F. Restitutionary remedies
