Aims
To enable students to develop the skills necessary to plan and execute a systematic review.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Identify research problems using material from a range of sources.
2.
Critically analyse the implications of key research methods for investigating practice-related problems.
3.
Critically evaluate the implications of research findings and identify strategies for potential change in practice.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Group tutorials: searching for literature; reviewing literature; systematic reviews; Individual tutorials: as negotiated with the student.
Additional Information:This module allows health and social care practitioners and health care managers to demonstrate their research knowledge and critical analysis skills through the preparation of a dissertation on a topic relevant to their practice.
The systematic review will be related to the profession of each student. The students are directed by the module lead and their profession specific advisor from the team.
