Aims

Music Production Techniques 2 builds upon study at Level 4 and develops the overall understanding of Record Production as a discipline in preparation for the change of focus of the Level 6 Producer module. The module aims to introduce learners to professional approaches and methods of evaluating work within a wider context. Furthermore, it aims to develop understanding of professional practices and techniques and the reasoning behind some of the methods employed in the wider music industry environment.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Demonstrate critical understanding of the core functions and features of industry standard desktop music production software and apply professional production techniques, concepts and principles to produce, program, mix and master industry demo quality multi-track recordings.
2.
Exercise critical skills with regard to audio quality, musical performance and contemporary references and practice.
