Aims
To introduce the student to the concept of Continuing Professional Development
(CPD) and Personal Development Planning (PDP) in the built environment
Learning Outcomes
1.
Undertake a critical audit of skills and capabilities for a professional career that identifies key areas requiring improvement
2.
Record personal progress and the feedback of others; responding as appropriate to own future development
3.
Articulate a coherent strategy for addressing a skills/capabilities gap-plan and through consultation with employer and tutor/instructor
4.
Reflect on your own learning, based on personal experience and comments from others, in order to plan for the future.
5.
Critically evaluate the impact of employers' workplace strategies to address skills gaps and demonstrate an understanding of the principles and processes that deliver an inclusive environment.

● Extend the experience into a specific area of work that raises an interest.

Additional Information:The aim of the module is to help the learner acknowledge that there is a need to
balance and plan for continual learning and self-development throughout their
career. This will be achieved with lectures, seminars and critical reflection by the
student.
