Aims
The aim of this module is to focus on an innovative boundary-breaking performance work, investigating its cultural resonance, critical importance, and performance demands. You will work with integrated acting skills to realise the requirements of this material, incorporating cultural and critical analysis to measure its reception, as well as applying collaborative company skills.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
This module requires your critical and cultural research into a significant innovative boundary-breaking company, practitioner or text and your interpretation of these concepts for a brand-new performance project. You will realise these approaches whilst working with a professional company/practitioner to realise this material for a staged live performance. You will unearth new discoveries in this material, working at the very cutting-edge of performance practice to generate fresh, new and ground-breaking perspectives. Your personal actor’s process will require both interpretation and adjustment according to working methods, testing you interdisciplinary approach and ability to work both autonomously and as a company member with efficiency and invention. In addition, you will critique these performance concepts, analyse audience reception and measure your engagement as a company member. The trinity of interdisciplinary acting, movement and voice skills is core to the module delivery, as well as personal and interpersonal collaborative practice.
