Aims
The Dance Techniques 2 module aims to provide students with the opportunity to build on postural and fundamental technical knowledge gained at Level 4, and to ascertain a wide range of stylistic skills affiliated within Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Commercial and Tap dance styles.
Learning Outcomes

Execute a high level of technical skill within Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Commercial and Tap.

Adopt a broad range of stylistic features.

Implement individual artistic expression.

Retain choreographic detail in both seen and unseen material.

Develop a strong body with good physical range.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
Within all five core techniques, students will continue to build and develop upon fundamental skills acquired at Level 4, drawing from the preliminary technical concepts introduced within the individual styles. Students working at this level will be encouraged to use their increased technical facilitation to explore and expand their artistic skills and application of stylistic features within each core technique in preparation for study at Level 6. The introduction of pointe work, virtuosity classes, partnering and heels will also be integrated at this level of study. Students will be assessed once as a reflection of their work throughout the duration of the module. This will include components such as physical attributes, technical execution, artistry skills and performance of seen and unseen material.
