Aims
This module aims to expand your concept of theatrical works, engaging with a variety of associated forms, styles and genres, such as Epic Theatre, challenging your interdisciplinary engagement as you begin to discover your hybrid personal performance process. You will test your acting skills further in digital work, such as screen or audio performance.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
In this module you will begin to advance your technical knowledge as you consolidate practitioner approaches in application to a variety of mediums, styles and genres of performance. You will study non-naturalistic performance, potentially spanning mixed-media works, involving A/V and audio, or stripped-back works that embrace Epic or Poor Theatre approaches. Projects capture alternative performance mediums, such as screen and audio works, as well as ‘laboratory’ exploration of integrated performance styles. These projects will allow you to formulate a personal and independent working process applicable to diverse performance demands. You will analyse critical and cultural perspectives in studied material, as well as manage the fundamentals of collaborative working ethics to unite personal technical processes with performance outputs.
The trinity of interdisciplinary acting, movement and voice skills is core to the module delivery, as well as personal and interpersonal collaborative practice.
