Aims

To introduce the student about construction techniques associated with building services. To develop an understanding of the performance of buildings and the influence of materials and workmanship specification on performance.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
Building Services: Plumbing and Drainage Service, Storm Water System, Water Supply System, Hot Water System, Cold Water System, Drainage System, Waste Water System, Sewerage System, Vent System, Rain Water Harvesting System, Fire Detection System, Fire Protection System, Electrical system, Renewable Energy, Building transportation, Air Conditioning System

Civil Engineering works: Roads (Road classification, road structure, materials), Bridges construction (Types of brides, Earth Retaining structures, Classes of dams.

Site Surveying: application of site surveying techniques (level machine, Theodolite), Level book format and calculations (Rise & Fall method)
