Aims
Instrumental Technique 2 aims to further develop specific instrumental skills and techniques as detailed in the instrumental syllabus. In addition general performance related skills (i.e. study, rehearsal, preparation and presentation skills) will continue to be developed. A more thorough understanding of a range of performance related subjects (improvisation, style/genre, interpretation, and musical analysis) will be developed to build on the foundations for future development in instrumental music and/or performance.
Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an advanced level of engagement with instrumental practice, study, rehearsal, preparation, presentation and performance techniques.
2.
Display an advanced level of musical and technical proficiency in performing scales, modes, chords, sight reading, improvising and prescribed technical exercises.
3.
Perform confidently in a chosen range of musical styles with an awareness of the characteristics of musical genres and appropriate styles demonstrating high-level interpretation skills.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Instrumental tuition will consist of weekly one-to-one classes. This module component is concerned with continuing to develop individual instrumental technique and proficiency, supporting the student's continued learning and knowledge of further musical styles and the associated repertoire, contributing to the student's continuing musical development, continuing to develop and nurture individual instrumental study skills and habits, and continuing to develop appropriate preparation and presentation skills. More emphasis will be given to allowing students to develop their own musical personality.
