Aims

To examine operational aspects of the various freight transport modes, separately and collectively, and to identify themes and issues across the modes.

Learning Outcomes

Discuss equipment and design issues affecting the freight transport industry.

Analyse the organizational structure of the freight transport industry.

Examine issues relating to the control and management of staff within freight transport sector.
4.
Prepare a complete transportation tender submission including cost calculation.
5.
Convincingly present a tender submission in front of a virtual client

Additional Information:Students learn about the managerial issues Transport Companies are facing in their business across all modes of transport. The lecture is held by industry-specialists, adding guest lectures from managers of Transport Companies who share expert knowledge and latest developments. For the topic of Tender Management, students work in groups to develop a logistics concept incl. cost calculation. The resulting concepts will be presented for assessment.
