Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate understanding of a range of concepts and empirical evidence in developmental, individual differences, and social psychology with reference to historical and contemporary perspectives.

Critically discuss key stages in developmental processes, including the development of cognitive, emotional and social skills through the life span

Critically discuss social influences on individual differences and group behaviours

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:The module will explore psychological development through the life span, covering key areas of development such as cognitive development, identity development and developmental disorders. The module will cover key concepts from individual differences research; for example, intelligence, gender commonalities and differences, personality and subjective wellbeing. Students will also gain an understanding of social psychological concepts such as interpersonal relationships, group processes and intergroup relations.
