Aims

The aim of this module is to support students in achieving proficiencies for registered nurses that are aligned to Part 2 of the Practice Assessment Document.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
Professional expectations for practice.  

Practice documentation (PAD and Pare).  

Role of the practice supervisor/assessor and academic assessor/nominated person.   

Learning opportunities in practice.  

Meeting proficiencies in practice.  

Raising concerns. 

Risk, safety and delegation. 

Introduction to dementia friendly training.  

Promoting professional wellbeing. 

Numeracy development. 

 

Nursing procedures theory (Annexe B)

Identify and respond to the signs of Sepsis 2.13

Observe, assess and respond appropriately to the needs of people & families in end of life care 10.1, 10.5

Implement isolation procedures  9.5

Safely assess, manage, insert & remove oral, nasal & gastric tubes and manage nutrition & hydration through a range of routes 5.6, 5.7

Module Overview:
The aim of this module is to support students in achieving proficiencies for registered nurses that are aligned to Part 2 of the Practice Assessment Document. In addition, students will be directed and supported to develop an understanding of the theory that underpins the NMC Standards of Proficiency Annexe B Nursing Procedures.
Additional Information:
Students must complete a minimum of 85% of the practice hours allocated for that year at the submission point in order to successfully pass this module.
