Aims
To explore key concepts and themes in relation to studio practice and wider contexts of contemporary fashion design and communication. To engage in critical debate and analysis to broaden and deepen knowledge and understanding of contemporary fashion practices. To develop a body of support material and alongside relevant design applications. To develop visual presentation skills of fashion issues through a body of work, which will integrate the key contextual concepts with practise, based outcomes.

Module Content
Outline Syllabus:This module is primarily concerned with a deepening of understanding of fashion concepts across design and communication practices. The body of work will demonstrate a synergy between practice and conceptual contexts. The two assessment outcomes will demonstrate student understanding via a spectrum of practice and communicative media.

Additional Information:The module is structured to maximise the progressive development of the individual's intellectual and creative potential. It will facilitate the ability to develop ideas and become independent thinkers alongside the opportunity to undertake sustained project work.
The delivery of this module is devised to engender a wide ranging understanding of contemporary fashion issues, in harmony with the development of skills of practise led projects.
