Aims

The aim if this module is to demonstrate an understanding of assessing and planning care and safe discharge in mental health nursing.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Apply knowledge of commonly encountered conditions and routine investigations to assessing the needs of the individual.
2.
Analyse the importance of considering complexity and shared decision making in prioritizing and planning care in mental health nursing.
3.
Consider the evidence base underpinning the planning and management of care delivery and quality of care in mental health nursing.

Module Overview:
This module will develop your understanding of assessing, monitoring and planning care in Mental Health nursing. You will also explore  research methods and ethics and the application of an evidence-base to your practice. In this module the indicative content will specifically be applied within the context of Mental Health Nursing.
