Aims

The aim if this module is to develop an demonstrate an understanding of assessing, planning care and safe discharge  in Children's nursing. 

Learning Outcomes

1.
Apply knowledge of commonly encountered conditions and routine investigations to assessing the needs of the individual.
2.
Analyse the importance of considering complexity and shared decision making in prioritising and planning care in child nursing.
3.
Consider the evidence base underpinning the planning and management of care delivery and quality of care in child nursing.

Co-morbidities and care planning (NMC 3.13)

Nursing procedures and managing devices - person centred care (NMC 4.12)

Safe discharge and transition (NMC 4.18)

Module Overview:
This module will develop your understanding of assessing, monitoring and planning care in Children's nursing. You will also explore  research methods and ethics and the application of an evidence-base to your practice. In this module the indicative content will specifically be applied within the context of Children's Nursing.
