Aims
To build upon students’ research skills and knowledge to enable them to position research within midwifery practice.
Learning Outcomes

Critically reflect on midwives’ contributions to developing practice and policy through research.

Critically discuss the impact of research on midwifery care and maternity outcomes.

Display knowledge of levels of evidence and sources of literature.

Demonstrate systematic search strategies to review literature effectively.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Midwives as researchers, midwifery-led research, evidence-based practice and policy, research and midwifery practice/maternity outcomes, key drivers in research, levels of evidence, reviewing research design, developing a search strategy (setting search parameters, developing key words), reviewing dissemination of literature (online, social media, journals, texts).
