Aims
1. To encourage students to expand their thinking about the possibilities and challenges of writing; (for example: aesthetic, cultural, or political);
2. To develop student skills in teamwork and collaboration, planning (including costing) and organization, creativity and enterprise, problem-solving and decision making;
3. To develop students' understanding of the relationships between writer and creative industries, text and readers, listeners and audience;
4. To develop students' knowledge of digital platforms and programmes for writing and publishing.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Collaboratively create and design an artefact (print or digital magazine, podcast or similar) that showcases their own creative writing and ability to work in teamworking.

Edit their own work and that of peers with a high level of rigour and scrutiny.
3.
Demonstrate an understanding of editorial approaches and processes, including costings, design, marketing, and dissemination.
4.
Reflect analytically on the process of decision-making and problem-solving.
5.
Demonstrate skills in research and analytical and reflective writing.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
This module allows students to work in small groups and to take leadership roles in the creation of magazines or other artefacts, with taught sessions on content design, target readership/audience and marketing strategies. In producing original creative work, students will also consider the role of the reader/audience and view themselves as practitioners, producing work for public consumption.
