Aims
To explore concepts and practices related to youth participation and empowerment, empowering students to understand, facilitate, and advocate for meaningful youth engagement in decision-making processes, community development initiatives, and social change efforts.
Learning Outcomes

Investigate strategies for solving challenges in youth participation and empowerment, using insights to develop a continued professional development (CPD) activity tailored to address specific needs and contexts.

Compare and contrast different CPD approaches focused on youth participation and empowerment, evaluating their suitability for enhancing youth workers' abilities to foster meaningful engagement among young people.

This module is designed to equip youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to engage and empower young people in their communities. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks, practical strategies, and real-world examples, participants will explore the importance of youth participation and empowerment in community development, understand the challenges faced by young people today, and learn how to create safe and inclusive spaces for youth to thrive. The module will also examine the ethical considerations in working with youth, the role of community engagement, and the impact of global perspectives on youth participation and empowerment.
