Aims
Studio and Recording Techniques 1 serves as a practical and theoretical introduction to studio-based recording. The module will cover a range of industry-standard studio-specific recording equipment, techniques and theory. It aims to provide students with skills and knowledge that will provide a firm foundation for further development and application.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Demonstrate operational fluency with the core functions and features of studio recording equipment and recall fundamental techniques to record, mix and master demo quality multi-track recordings in a studio environment.
2.
Demonstrate a basic operational fluency with and understanding of signal path, routing, studio session/file management and contemporary studio practice.
3.
Recall acoustics, digital audio recording, mixing and signal processing theories.
